At Barter Farms, the laying hens are treated like queens. The girls are fed high quality locally sourced feed. Their diet is supplemented by grazing folliage, scavenging for bugs, and farm scraps.

Our polite and gentle rooster, Sven, takes good care of our ladies by protecting the flock. Barter Farms also has fertilized eggs available for incubation or hatching on the farm.

All farm fresh eggs can be purchased any day at our roadside farmstand and the Elkin Farmer’s Market.
